WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?

Self-shooting Producer Director , film in production

It’s”rat poison squared” according to Warren Buffet. “It’s fundamental value is negative“adds NYU economics professor. Summarised eloquently by renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs, bitcoin offers ā€œnothing of social valueā€.

However, in communities around the world, a different reality is bubbling. There is a narrative rarely talked about in more developed nations.

To offer some context, a staggering 1 out of 3 people live in nations suffering repression, corruption, and with that, a loss of financial freedom that many of us take for granted. As well, research in 2022 found that almost half of countries worldwide are seeing double-, or even triple-digit inflation rates. Desperate for an escape route, bitcoin is offering people around the world, hope, and a chance at prosperity in the form of a currency outside the control of government and geopolitics.

The world is changing faster than anyone can keep up. The sheer volume of information we consume each day is overwhelming. Feeling the need to cut through the noise, polarising mass media and have words for what is on everyone’s minds at the moment, I decided to take a deep dive into “what the f*uck is happening these days, and where do we go from here?”

I’d love for you to join me. I’ll be sharing updates via my website blog as I attempt to build this puzzle piece by piece.

THE MAIDEN FACTOR

Camerawoman & Development AP for The Maiden Factor

I am currently working with The Maiden Factor, documenting Maiden’s world tour, where Maiden is the Global Ambassador for the Empowerment of Girls through Education.

The United Nations states ā€œeducation is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable developmentā€. Indeed, each additional year of school a girl completes cuts both infant mortality and child marriage rates. Think tank, The Brookings Institution calls secondary schooling for girls the most cost-effective and best investment against climate change.  However, at the current rate of change, the UN’s 2030 goals for education are not going to be reached, instead leading to an education emergency, advancing climate change, and stunting social and economic development.

The situation is urgent, and with dreams of a better world, a new adventure  about to begin. This time, Maidenā€™s task goes far beyond empowering women in sailing. Maiden and a new all-female crew join forces in a 3-year global tour to empower girls, and change the world.
